Abstract:ObjectiveChondrolaryngoplasty, also known as thyroid cartilage reduction, alleviates gender dysphoria by reducing the thyroid cartilage to conform to a patient's gender identity. Reduction of the thyroid cartilage prominence (“Adam's apple”) is often performed with a scalpel, but in cases of cartilage calcification, rongeurs or drills are utilized.
