“…For instance, in Mexico direct‐driven system SPVWPS reliability and its cost‐effectiveness, which are operational for more than 20 years, are analyzed 103 . The results indicate that low‐cost micro‐financing makes the SPVWPS more reliable and affordable, which leads to an increase in agricultural productivity. A case study conducted for the application of SPVWPS in Banyamulenge Village, Indonesia 104 indicate that SPVWPS is sustainable for rural local people at least for a minimum period of 6 years. The economic feasibility and technicality of PV and diesel‐based water‐pumping system are carried out 9 for five cities in Saudi Arabia and proved that PV system will avoid 24 000 tons of greenhouse gases from each site and 6.0 lakh tons of greenhouse gas during the lifetime of the project and this could also save 8900 L of diesel as well. A PV capacity of 120 Wp is used in Australia to drive water pumps from the head of 5, 10, and 15 m using with and without MPPT was compared 57 . It was found that the water flow rate increases by two times by using MPPT technique.…”

“…Innovation diffusion challenges in late-industrialising countries (Zanello et al , 2016) and for RETs in industrialised (Luthra et al , 2015) and late-industrialising countries (Luthra et al , 2015; Negro et al , 2012) have been reviewed and summarised here. Case study reviews have been used to provide a deeper understanding of stakeholder perspectives (Jacobsson and Johnson, 2000; Reddy and Painuly, 2004); diffusion problems in Kenya (Barrie and Cruickshank, 2017; Lay et al , 2013); and solar pump diffusion problems (Wahyuni et al , 2015). The findings are organised around the integrated research framework (IRF) described in Section 3.1.…”

“…However, it is often the maintenance expertise that is key to successful investments (Luthra et al , 2015) – this includes service providers, but also the end-users. In the case of community assets, RETs require support structures that allow defects to be reported and addressed (Wahyuni et al , 2015). In the case of individual consumers, they must have a clear understanding of the product and supporting commercial arrangements (Barrie and Cruickshank, 2017).…”
