Abstract:SUMMARYIlex is known for its rich content of secondary metabolites, particularly triterpenoid saponins. These compounds hold significant value in natural remedies and herbal medicine. However, the molecular mechanisms responsible for triterpenoid biosynthesis in plants of this genus remain largely unexplored.
