Environmental concerns have become more prominent than ever. There is a strong need for organizations to immediately shift from the current business as usual attitude. Organizations, as the driving vehicles of economic growth, are expected to lead this new era. Eco-innovations were identified as one of the pillars of change towards sustainable development. The application of eco-innovation will be a crucial factor in achieving sustainable development. Eco-innovation has the ability to help organizations tackle rising environmental issues. Despite the increased popularity of eco-innovation, there is a lack of literature that considers the management's role in the eco-innovation and firm performance relationship. How firms might develop and embed eco-innovations has received little attention. As research concerning ecoinnovation converges, there is a need to develop eco-innovation and firm performance models that can be related to organizational factors. Models that deal with strategic, structural and management factors are needed. Most of the current developed models are highly generalized and only few have been adapted to specific markets, segments or industries. Furthermore, models should examine the interaction of internal and external variables in the context of eco-innovation and firm performance. Hence, this paper aims to highlight the gaps in current eco-innovation and firm performance literature. Furthermore, this paper discusses future directions regarding eco-innovation and firm performance model development.

Most existing works using a displacement estimation method to estimate the CO 2 emissions abated by wind energy are based on the current operating principles of the power system. They consider a fixed displacement emission factor since wind energy is assumed to replace high-carbon generation. This method may be unsuitable in the long run when the energy mix of most countries becomes more decarbonised. Consequently, wind energy would replace those technologies becoming increasingly predominant in the future, i.e. lower polluting fossil fuels such as natural gas and even other less competitive low-carbon technologies. In order to consider this effect, this paper proposes a new method that estimates a range of potential CO 2 emissions abated by wind energy based on two dynamic displacement emission factors, which are periodically updated according to the evolution of the future energy mix. Such factors represent an upper and a lower limit of CO 2 emissions avoided. The method is validated in the case study of the European Union over the period 2015–2050. The results show that the annual displacement emission factor by wind energy may vary from about 422 to 741 t CO 2 /GWh in 2015 to around 222–515 t CO 2 /GWh in 2050. The total CO 2 abatement ranges from about 6600 to 13100 Mt CO 2 in the period 2015–2050.

The Green innovation describes to the evolution of humanity toward capacity of invention to technological and environmental change for cleaner production and sustainable development. The existing literature about this concept is recent and no systematic review of the literature on the topic. The objective of this study is to synthesize the existing literature on Green innovation and identifies concepts and applications in the industries, based on the specialized search - Scopus database. The systematic literature review was conducted, including 24 articles. Despite of the research the relationship between green innovation in companies remains unclear but in the construction sector the green innovation can be a potential sector with ability to lead the process sustainable and responsibilities to the environment since conception, construction, use and disposal the structure.
