Integrating Concentrated Optics for Ambient Perovskite Solar Cells

Abstract: Metal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are considered an effectual way to enhance photovoltaic (PV) properties, leading to low-cost and high efficiency. PSCs have experienced rapid improvement in the last ten years. The device’s energy production increases extensively in the presence of concentrated light. The use of concentrated optics in solar cells has spurred the PV industry towards tremendous research. Incorporating the concentrated optic into the PV system as a concentrated PV (CPV) means it can capt… Show more

“…Without an appropriate cooling system for the UC-PSC device, the dark current increases as a function of the operating temperature, resulting in reduced open-circuit voltage (Voc) for longer times, and therefore reducing the photovoltaic performance of the system [28,29], as illustrated in Figure 4a,c. In comparison to the UC-PSC device, the pristine device shows a relatively low photovoltaic performance, as illustrated in Figure 4b,d.…”

“…With continued research and development, PSC's long-term stability and performance are anticipated to advance, bringing them closer to commercial viability. [37][38][39][40] They can be modied to absorb different sunlight wavelengths, including visible and infrared light. [41][42][43] PSCs can be transformed into exible, lightweight components, opening up new applications for wearable electronics, building materials, and portable electronics.…”
