Intelligent decision-making model based on minority game for resource allocation in cloud manufacturing

Abstract: PurposeThis paper proposes a model based on minority game (MG) theory to support the decision-making regarding the efficient allocation and exploitation of resources/services among the partners of a cloud manufacturing (CMfg) system. CMfg system is a new manufacturing paradigm to share manufacturing capabilities and resources on a cloud platform. The use of a decision model to organize and manage the resources and services provided by the autonomous participants of a CMfg has crucial relevance for the system's… Show more

“…This study models interactive decisions that determine the optimal solutions for a single manufacturer, multiple distributors, and multiple subcontractors by confirming that all stakeholders' profits are maximized. Among other manufacturing industries, the use of game theory can be found in cellular manufacturing systems (using a cooperative game [445]), cloud manufacturing (using a minority game [446]), vaccine manufacturing (using an evolutionary game [447]), warehousing industry (using a cooperative game [448]), and prefabricated building project (using an extensive form game [292]).…”

“…In [42], the authors propose a decision-making model based on minority game (MG) theory to organize and manage the resources and services provided by the autonomous participants of a cloud manufacturing system with private information. In the game, a set of classes is the agents competing for a group of workstations.…”

“…From the perspective of network aggregation, the cooperative behaviour of innovation subjects with high intermediate value at the network level is more likely to appear in the network. From the perspective of individual preference [51], bounded rationality [52] and expectation [53], when the individual cooperation preference is stronger, the degree of decision-making rationality is higher, and the willingness to cooperate is stronger, and all can promote the cooperation of innovation subjects in the network. Increasingly more researchers have discussed the evolutionary law of the cooperative behaviour of innovation subjects in the process of dynamic network evolution.…”
