Interaction of a modulated electron beam with an inhomogeneous plasma

Abstract

The authors make a theoretical study of the excitation of a monochromatic plasma wave by a modulated electron beam in an inhomogeneous plasma when synchronism is kept up between the beam and the excited wave. Results are also given of experimental studies on the interaction of a modulated beam with a homogeneous and an inhomogeneous plasma.
