Abstract: BACKGROUNDCross‐resistance between pre‐emergence herbicides is developing in Australian populations of annual ryegrass (Lolium rigidum Gaud.). A previous study has reported that selection with prosulfocarb (a pro‐herbicide requiring bioactivation to its phytotoxic sulfoxide) can decrease metabolic resistance to trifluralin.
