Abstract:In Fractional frequency reuse (FFR) based cellular networks which employ femtocells to fulfill the higher data rate requirements, the throughput performance of femtocells are primarily limited by the co-channel interference due to the frequency reuse. However, in orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, allocation of an optimum frequency subband based on the minimum interference present in all the available subbands, can improve the performance of femtocells considerably. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
