Internal Carotid Dissection as the Cause of Stroke in Childhood

Abstract: Internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection is a cause of stroke, but it is often underdiagnosed in children. ICAs’ risk factors and pathogenic mechanisms are poorly understood, and the treatment is still empirical.
