Abstract:Bi 2.1x Pb x Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8 + d samples containing Y, Nd, or La on the Sr or Ca site were synthesized at 760-790 ° C in flowing N 2 and were oxidized in air at different temperatures. The samples were characterized by x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetry, chemical analysis, inelastic neutron scattering, and EXAFS spectroscopy. The oxidation kinetics of the solid solutions and the microstructure of the oxidation products were shown to correlate with the rare-earth content.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
