Interval analysis and verification of mathematical models

Abstract: Summary. The paper provides an introduction to interval arithmetic based techniques for the verification of mathematical models. Illustrative examples are described from the fields of circle packing, chaotic behaviour dynamical systems, and process network synthesis.
