Abstract:Intestinal pseudo-obstruction (IPO) is defined as an intestinal obstruction without mechanical obstructive lesion. It's a rare complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We report a case of SLE inaugurated by IPO to emphasize the importance of early recognition of the diagnosis especially that SLE-related IPO responds well to corticosteroid therapy.
