Abstract:Management of emergency care Background: The use of an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) in patients with advanced heart failure can provide interim mechanical support as a bridge to further treatment, including cardiac transplantation. The femoral artery, axillary artery, and subclavian artery are the main approaches to IABP catheter placement.
