“…The patient had complications of permanent trigeminal (cranial nerve V) and facial nerve (cranial nerve VII) deficits. Pandey et al 15 also reported complete fistula disconnection in 2 patients with middle fossa DAVFs in a series of 31 lesions in 29 patients, 1 with surgery alone and 1 with surgery followed by endovascular embolization and a second surgery. Gross and Du 17 reported only 1 surgical case of sphenoid ridge DAVF in a series of 70 lesions in 56 patients.…”

“…Since the original description of sphenoparietal sinus DAVFs, 7 experience with these rare lesions has been limited and modern surgical series have been sparse (Table 2). [12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19] Kakarla et al 13 reported on 53 patients with DAVFs treated surgically, including 3 sphenoparietal sinus lesions. Similarly, they achieved a high surgical cure rate and excellent clinical outcomes for patients with SWR DAVFs.…”

“…We consider that intraoperative DSA in the hybrid OR can compensate for these points. [ 15 ] Newer robotic C-arms can facilitate better image guidance during surgery, as they provide a larger field of view and more working space as well as a longer radius of gyration. The latter further, helps avoid collision of equipment and patients and enables the easier setting of the surgery.…”
