“…Poor protein profiles with 8 to 10 bands were detected in bands were present (Singh et al 1992). Samples from 1988 and 1989 were broadly in agreement with each other and showed better allergenic profile.…”

“…The SDS-PAGE protein profiles of different pollen samples used for immunoblot analysis in the present investigation are already reported in one of the earlier issues of this journal (Singh et al 1992). In brief, protein profiles of pollen from different time intervals showed presence of similar protein bands from 14 kD to 70 kD.…”

“…In 1992, Singh et al . [ 2] studied the intraspecific protein variation of the castor bean pollen extract, with respect to different circumstances, in all cases, as in ours, the acidic proteins with a pI of between 4.0 and 5.5, were the principal ones, with minor changes in the basic proteins. The same study, using SDS‐PAGE, described a slightly higher variance in the molecular masses of the allergens, in connection with different circumstances and growth stages, and highlighted two bands of 66 and 70 kDa as the principal proteins of the extract in terms of weight.…”

“…Pollen of Ricinus communis is an important allergen and is well characterized in India and elsewhere (Singh et al 1992, 1993, Garcia-Gonzalez et al 1999. It has been established that R. communis can cause allergic symptoms in 5 -30% of the symptomatic population in India (Shivpuri et al 1979, Shivpuri 1980, Parui et al 1999).…”
