Introduction, Gumbel Model

Abstract: ABSTRACT. Properties of the Gumbel distribution are given. Techniques are discussed for treating the special problems associated with this distribution when making the usual statistical decisions.These include point estimation, goodness-of-fit tests, hypothesis tests, interval estimation and prediction using the usual parameters plus others, such as return period, based on complete and censored samples.
