Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is a promising technology that offers a clean and efficient renewable energy source. The hybrid SiO2, sulfonated SiO2 (SSiO2), and metal–organic framework‐5 (MOF‐5) incorporated sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) ternary composite membranes are fabricated using dry phase inversion technique for PEMFC. The membrane performance is evaluated in terms of water uptake, ion exchange capacity, methanol permeability, and proton conductivity (PC) measurements. The morphological study of fabricated membranes was carried out using scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy analysis. The mechanical stability is strengthened up to 30–40%, and the PC gets enhanced with the incorporation of MOF‐5, achieving simultaneous improvement in proton conduction and membrane stability. The PC of the ternary SPEEK/SSiO2/MOF‐5 membrane is 3.69 × 10−3 S cm−1, 32% more than the neat membrane. A significant increase in selectivity of 23% is observed by incorporating SSiO2 and MOF‐5 fillers when compared with the neat membrane. The synergistic effect of MOF‐5 and SSiO2 in the ternary membrane has significantly improved water retention and proton conductivity. The functional SO3H groups of SiO2 and MOF‐5 bonded via acid–base electrostatic interactions with the SPEEK; enhances proton conduction accompanied by suppressing the methanol penetration through membranes.

The structural, electronic, and optical properties were investigated by performing firstprinciples calculations within the framework of density functional theory (DFT) for zincsaturated magnesium oxide (ZnxMg1−x O) with different concentrations of Zn (x = 0, 0.125, 0.375 and 0.5). The crystal structure used in this calculation was the cubic MgO with a space group of Fm-3m with a 2x1x1 supercell. An increase in the zinc concentration increased the lattice parameters of ZnxMg1−x O and reduced the band gap of the material. The absorption function and refractive index were improved with increasing doping concentration of Zn in the ZnxMg1−x O compared to pure MgO. In addition, this information could provide a direction in the fabrication of a good photo catalyst material.

This paper reflects the energy that can be harvested from the automatic sliding doors. Previously, swinging doors and revolving doors were used to harvest the energy. But due to difficulties to attain maximum range of motion through the swinging doors which is can open up to 900 and because of revolving doors take up a lot of spaces and it is not ideal to be located in small building, thus the use of automatic sliding doors was suggest for this research. The aims of this research are to analyze the output produced from the new system and compare it with the existing systems that use swinging and revolving doors. The kinetic energy which attained form the motion of sliding doors then was converted to ambient energy which can be later converted to electrical energy. The system used Piezoelectric generators to generate energy from the motion of sliding doors. There are 3 systems with different wheel diameter and number of piezoelectric modules placed within the tires of the wheel. The energy was produced by the deformation in the body of the tires caused by the load applied on the wheels. ANSYS’s software was used to simulate the stress acting on the wheel. It was found out the door produces 60.41 J and 80.52 W of energy and power assuming that the door is used for 120 minutes every day. It was concluded that the energy lost from the motion of sliding doors can be harvested and the system doesn’t take up much space as compared to revolving doors’ system.
