Abstract:Intussusception is a very rare complication of typhlitis in the setting of neutropenia. We present a case of intussception with typhlitis, associated with extended-spectrum β-lactamase Escherichia coli bacteremia in the setting of neutropenia in a patient with acute leukemia. The causative organisms, infectious pathogenesis, complications of neutropenic enterocolitis, and different diagnostic modalities for investigating one of its rare complications, intussusception, is emphasized in the case study.
