Invariant volume forms and first integrals for geodesically equivalent Finsler metrics
Ioan Bucataru
Abstract:Two geodesically equivalent Finsler metrics determine a set of invariant volume forms on the projective sphere bundle. The proportionality factors, between these volume forms, are geodesically invariant functions and hence they are first integrals. These first integrals can be easily computed as the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial of a (1, 1)-type tensor field derived from the angular metric.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
