Inversion techniques to obtain local rotation velocity and ion temperature profiles for the x-ray crystal spectrometer on EAST

Abstract: Inversion techniques are conducted based on the Tangential X-ray Crystal Spectroscopy (TXCS) geometry on EAST to obtain the local profiles of ion temperature (Ti) and toroidal rotation velocity (vt). Firstly, local emissivity profiles of the impurity argon (Ar) are obtained using the asymmetrical Abel inversion. Then, the local vt and Ti profiles are calculated by considering the local emissivity profiles and the TXCS detailed geometry. In addition, it is discussed in detail on how the changes in the vt profi… Show more

“…The uncertainties of H 98y2 mainly come from the calculation of power absorption of NBI and LHW, which had been evaluted in EAST, and the error ultimately transmitted by P abs and W th is about 13.6% [28,29]. And the evaluation of T e and T i in EAST can be referred in [30,31]. As shown in the figure 1(a), H 98y2 shows an evident increase from 0.65 to 1.03 with the increase of T i /T e .…”
