Investigating technology and organizational performance of private higher learning institutions in Malaysia

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of technology on organizational performance of private higher learning institutions (HLIs) in Malaysia and to determine the area of focus for private HLIs in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach Data collection was carried out over two months through an online self-administered questionnaire and yielded 155 samples. Subsequently, the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the reflective measurement model… Show more

“…To buttress the findings from the Fornell Larcker criterion, in the lines of Henseler et al, (2015) we also conducted the Hetero-trait Mono-trait correlations to determine the discriminant validity (Franke and Sarstedt, 2019). HTMT is "defined as the mean value of the item correlations across constructs (i.e., the heterotrait-heteromethod correlations) relative to the (geometric) mean of the average correlations of the items measuring the same construct (i.e., the monotrait-heteromethod correlations)" (Lyn & Muthuveloo, 2019). We found that the HTMT values of all the constructs, which ranged from 0.45 to 0.78, which were less than 0.85 (which is the threshold value).…”

“…Organizational performance continues to garner scholarly attention despite being a well-established concept in management studies [30,31]. Empirically, organizational performance is a multidimensional and complex notion [32][33][34] that has been conceptualized by several scholars from the 50s' to date [35][36][37].…”

“…Since the 1950s, various empirical and theoretical research on organizational performance, particularly in management, have been conducted and continue to be conducted (Chan Ie Lyn & Muthuveloo, 2019; Otache, 2019) [21,71] . Organizational performance is one of the most actively contested and explored themes in literature among researchers and theorists, according to Fadeyi et al (2015) [27] ; Jenatabadi, 2015 [45] ; Laukkanen et al, 2013 [54] .…”
