Investigation into Ventriloquism Effect Considering Indication of the Loudspeaker Position

Abstract: In this work, we investigated strength variations of the ventriloquism effect when the loudspeaker's position was indicated to the subject. The ventriloquism effect is an audiovisual cross‐modality in which a sound is heard from the position of an image, even though the sound and image are presented at different locations. Previously, this effect has been studied under conditions where the sound location is not revealed. In contrast, this paper proposes measuring the ventriloquism effect using a single loudspe… Show more

“…The loudspeaker is a very versatile underwater sound source, which has the characteristics of high sound source level, lightweight, and easy installation [1] . The loudspeaker works under the composite action of an electric field and magnetic field, so it is simulated and studied, and the influence of magnetic field parameters and electric field parameters on the residual sound source level is analyzed, which is of guiding significance for the design of loudspeakers [2][3][4] . On the basis of the fast Fourier transform, the time-frequency analysis of the loudspeaker is carried out, and the simulation results show that the sound pressure level distribution of the loudspeaker meets the requirements.…”
