Investigation of the Effect of Mouthwash on Bonding Temporary Crown Materials with Various Temporary Cements

Abstract

Objectives: This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effects of surface treatments and mouthwash on the bond strength of different temporary restorative materials with provisional cements. 
 Methods: A total of 252 samples 10 mm in diameter and 2 mm in thickness were prepared from three different provisional restorative materials. Each temporary crown material was randomly divided into three separate groups, and surface treatments were applied. (no surface treatment, air abrasion, or hydrofluoric acid etching). Two types of temporary cements were bonded to the surface. Half of them were treated with mouthwash; the other half were kept in distilled water as a control group.
