(Invited, Digital Presentation) Quantum Dots Based Transparent Light Emitting Diodes

Abstract

Open-air fabrication of printable transparent and flexible devices is of great importance for the development of the optoelectronic industry. Colloidal quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) have recently emerged as promising candidates for displays and lightning technology due to their remarkable performance including high efficiency, brightness, and stability. However, the fabrication of flexible and transparent QLEDs using solution-based techniques is still poorly explored. In this paper, we describe high-quality thin-film transparent conductive electrodes (TCEs) based on dielectric/metal/dielectric (DMD) multilayer fabricated using spin-coating/sputtering method and Ag-mesh electrodes fabricated by Ultra Precise Deposition (UPD). We present flexible and transparent QLEDs based on green-emitting Cd-based quantum dots using previously optimized TCEs. We also compare both deposition techniques, discuss their advantages, and predict their potential impact on the development of the optoelectronic industry.
