Ion-pumping microbial rhodopsin protein classification by machine learning approach

Abstract: Background Rhodopsin is a seven-transmembrane protein covalently linked with retinal chromophore that absorbs photons for energy conversion and intracellular signaling in eukaryotes, bacteria, and archaea.
