Abstract:Two ionic, cavity-containing, water-soluble resorcinarenes are shown to bind to and enhance the aqueous solubility of three hydrophobic drugs: isoniazid, caffeine, and griseofulvin. The macrocycles are non-toxic at experimental concentrations.
