“…For this reason, various removal methods have been applied. They include coagulation–flocculation, 10 membrane bioreactor, 11 biodegradation, 12 phytoremediation, 13 photodegradation, 5 catalytic wet peroxide oxidation, 3 electrochemical oxidation, 2 photocatalysis, 1 ozonation, 14 catalytic ozonation, 15 sono‐catalysis, 16 Fenton‐like oxidation, 17 and adsorption 9 . Among them, adsorption can be considered as the most economical and feasible technology for the removal of contaminants from aqueous solutions because of its relatively high removal efficiency, high reversibility, and low operating cost.…”

“…7 Therefore, their removal from water environment is an important strategy for obtaining the sustainability of natural life. 8 Furthermore, since naproxen is classified in the priority list of Global Water Research Coalition and is widely detected at levels up to 2.3 mg L −1 in wastewater samples, 9 its removal from water samples is a significant issue of concern. For this reason, various removal methods have been applied.…”

“…The data presented in this study shows that biochar produced from MMDM can be used to remove MB from water. MB has similar structural characteristics to some pesticides and pharmaceutical compounds containing benzene rings important for - interactions with the biochar, polar/ionic characteristics (Paunovic et al, 2019;Zhang et al, 2019), and functional groups capable of hydrogen bonds (Suo et al, 2019). It stands to reason that the adsorption of MB in this study can be used as an indicator for MMDM biochar's capability to remove other harmful organic compounds from water.…”

“…According to the model, if all the extension lines of the linear part do not pass through the origin, intraparticle diffusion is not the only rate‐limiting stage. [ 48 ] It is clearly seen that the cefdinir adsorption process was not only controlled by intra‐particle diffusion in both activated biochars (Figure 5d).…”
