“…Despite the potential of voice applications in the IoT ecosystem, the integration of voice into IoT applications is still an issue, largely due to the constrained nature of IoT devices and technologies, i.e. CPU, memory, battery, limited/unpredictable bandwidth [5] [11]. In this regard, there are some previous attempts that targeted the adaptation of the VoIP enabler protocols for IoT devices.…”

“…In this regard, there are some previous attempts that targeted the adaptation of the VoIP enabler protocols for IoT devices. RTP-IoT [11] extends RTP/RTCP protocols to make them more suitable for IoT. Similarly, CoSIP [12] creates a light-weight session initiation mechanism, based on CoAP, aiming at allowing constrained devices to instantiate communication sessions in a standardized fashion.…”

“…Jiang et al 6 analyzed the network behavior in a statistical manner in order to capture the flow features of the network which provides the exact view of network behavior in large-scale network. Said et al's 7 IoT considered the transmission channels heterogeneity, session size change in a multimedia data transmission, the irregularity in the end-to-end delay in a heterogeneous environment is considered, and the proposed protocol is excelled with the existing protocols.…”

“…In Reference the authors rely on CoAP to transmit video in a surveillance system. In Reference the authors modify traditional RTP to provide media transmission capabilities in the context of IoT but they fail to take into account the throughput limitations due to the lower layer protocols like IEEE 802.15.4 and 6LoWPAN. In order to fill the need for a more optimal solution, the research presented in this paper attempts to adapt standard IoT protocols like CoAP, that work well in Low‐power and lossy networks and have low complexity, to the transmission of media in general and hyperspectral images in particular.…”
