Abstract: Microbial resistance to antibiotics poses a tremendous challenge. Bacteriophages may provide a useful alternative or adjunct to traditional antibiotics. To be used in therapy, bacteriophages need to be purified from endotoxins and tested for their effects on human immune cells.
