Is imperfect evaluation a deterrent to adoption of energy audit recommendations?

Abstract: PurposeEnergy-efficiency leads to productivity gains as it can lower operating and maintenance costs, increase production yields per unit of manufacturing input and improve staff accountability. Implementation of energy-efficient technologies amongst industries, the factors influencing them and the barriers to their adoption have been the subject of several studies during the past three to four decades. Though energy-use behaviours of individuals or households are sufficiently explored, industrial energy conse… Show more

“…The elements are classified into four zones in MICMAC: “driving factors”, “autonomous factors”, “dependent factors” and “linkage factors” (Ramiya and Suresh, 2021). The factors can be explained below: Zone I: Autonomous factors have little reliance and low driving power (Chillayil et al , 2022). There were no parameters in this study that fell within the autonomous zone. Zone II: Dependence factors are more reliant on other factors yet have less driving strength (Sreenivasan and Suresh, 2021).…”

“…Suguna et al ( 2021 ) applied TISM to examine the last mile delivery factors’ interrelationships during Covid-19 emergency. Chillayil et al ( 2021 ) studied the energy auditing behavioral factors’ interrelationships using TISM. Wankhede and Vinodh ( 2021 ) applied TISM for analyzing the intermediate factors of preservative manufacturing and industry 4.0.…”
