Ischemic stroke in a young man with MTHFR A1298C and ACE I/D polymorphism

Abstract: Ischemic stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Mutations in several candidate genes involving angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene have been found to be associated with ischemic stroke. This report describes the case of a 29 year-old man who presented with sudden onset left hemiparesis and hemihipoestesia.
