Isolation, partial characterisation and immunomodulatory activities of polysaccharide from Morchella esculenta

Abstract: These bioactivity tests showed that the polysaccharides from Morchella esculenta presented significant immune modulating activity, and this finding may offer the basis for the popular use of polysaccharides in functional foods or medicine.

“…30 mg of PSAN and PSAA were respectively hydrolyzed with 2 mol/L H 2 SO 4 (5 mL) for 8 h at 110 • C in sealed glass tubes [12]. After removal of the residual acid with BaCO 3 , the hydrolysates were analyzed by the evaporative light-scattering detector (ELSD, Waters 2420) system.…”

“…Although free and protein‐bound polysaccharides from mushrooms have been shown to possess important medicinal properties, there is little information in the literature about their biological and physicochemical properties 10, 11. There are some reports on the production of free and protein‐bound polysaccharides from basidiomycete strains such as C. versicolor, Pleurotus ostreatus, Lentinula edodes and Ganoderma lucidum 2, 12, 13.…”
