Abstract:Nets are important mathematical tools that have been used as models in the analysis and design of crystal structures since the early days of crystallography (Wells, 1977). The notion of a net is extremely versatile and lends itself to major applications in crystal engineering and crystal structure prediction, including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and zeolites. Apart from this wide range of applicability, nets and their embeddings are also fascinating mathematical objects in their own right and have signifi… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
