Jaqpot Quattro: A Novel Computational Web Platform for Modeling and Analysis in Nanoinformatics

Abstract: Engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) are increasingly infiltrating our lives as a result of their applications across multiple fields. However, ENM formulations may result in the modulation of pathways and mechanisms of toxic action that endanger human health and the environment. Alternative testing methods such as in silico approaches are becoming increasingly popular for assessing the safety of ENMs, as they are cost- and time-effective. Additionally, computational approaches support the industrial safer-by-desig… Show more

“…Other methods deal with smooth transition areas in the image using statistics of reflected textures. 17,18 Although much of the past work have focused on designing a variety of priors due to the complexity of real-world photographs, no single method can capture all the features of an eigenimage. In contrast, when there are more input images in real-world application scenarios, such as image sequences, multimodal input, or user interaction, the problem becomes relatively adaptive.…”

“…An efficient way to make PBPK models available to the community for testing on new data is provided by the Jaqpot platform [158], which offers nano-aware PBPK modelling in the NanoCommons infrastructure (https://infrastructure.nanocommons.eu), a functionality that will be integrated into the NanoSolveIT e-Infrastructure (https://nanosolveit.eu). An example was presented for nano PBPK model for polyethylene glycol-coated polyacrylamide (PAA-peg) nanoparticles on rat [24].…”

“…The eNanoMapper server currently does not use other web services, besides being able to retrieve chemical structures from public databases (e.g. PubChem). The full details of the eNanoMapper API, including a description of the computational services implementation (which uses and integrates a variety of technologies and also reads and writes from/to data services) are published (Jeliazkova et al, 2015)(Chomenidis et al, 2017). …”
