Joint user association, subchannel assignment, and power allocation in full‐duplex OFDMA heterogeneous networks

Abstract: In‐band full‐duplex (FD) radio is regarded as a promising solution to enhance the spectral efficiency in the next‐generation wireless networks. In this paper, the problem of joint user association, subchannel assignment, and power allocation in FD orthogonal frequency‐division multiple access heterogeneous networks is considered. The weighted downlink and uplink sum rate of the network is maximized in a way that the transmit power of base stations and users remains below a given level. The problem is formulate… Show more

“…There have been several existing works on resource allocation and interference mitigation in HCNs to optimize the throughput of small cells 2‐7 and energy efficiency 8‐12 . In orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) HCNs, the authors in Reference 2 proposed a joint subchannel and power allocation scheme to maximize the sum rate of all users in small cells with consideration of different services requirements and the cross‐tier interference limitation.…”

“…In Reference 3, the authors proposed a cluster based joint subchannel and power allocation framework to avoid the co‐tier interference and guarantee hierarchical throughput requirements of different small cells. Also in OFDMA HCNs, the authors in Reference 4 studied joint user association, subchannel and power allocation with full‐duplex communication manner. A robust multiple‐leader and multiple‐follower Stackelberg game was formulated in Reference 5 to investigate power control in two‐tier HCNs under different interference constraints.…”
