Abstract: Although initially formally described in the 19th century, the diversity of presentation and clinical subsets of Kaposi sarcoma have expanded considerably since then. Now recognised as a virally driven process caused by human herpesvirus 8, co‐infection with HIV or EBV, as well as immunosuppression, are considered important predisposing factors.
