“…The genotypes with IDs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 73 which were commonly reported in Indian populations were observed at higher frequencies confirming the earlier findings. Though the number of unique genotypes reported in the present study is low compared to studies from related Indian populations (Guha et al ., ; Pydi et al ., ), these unique genotypes add upto the genetic diversity of KIR genotypes observed in Indian populations and could be a result of racial admixture and local specific selection pressures.
