Abstract:Gas adsorption by porous frameworks sometimes results in structure "breathing", "pores opening/closing", "negative gas adsorption", and other phenomena. Timedependent diffraction can address both kinetics of the guest uptake and structural response of the host framework. Using sub-second in situ powder X-ray diffraction, three intracrystalline diffusion scenarios have been evaluated from the isothermal kinetics of Ar, Kr, and Xe adsorption by nanoporous g-Mg(BH 4) 2. These scenarios are dictated by two possibl… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
