Kinetics of Lower Limb Prosthesis: Automated Detection of Vertical Loading Rate

Abstract: Vertical loading rate could be associated with residuum and whole body injuries affecting individuals fitted with transtibial prostheses. The objective of this study was to outline one out of five automated methods of extraction of vertical loading rate that stacked up the best against manual detection, which is considered the gold standard during pseudo-prosthetic gait. The load applied on the long axis of the leg of three males was recorded using a transducer fitted between a prosthetic foot and physiotherap… Show more

“…All this was possible also thanks to the development and improvement of adhesive techniques, which allowed an ever increasing use of polymers in the dental field. Other materials already known, such as titanium, are able to be used in contact with tissues and to build prostheses [33,34], but composite materials, as already mentioned, are able to combine the mechanical characteristics of their components [35][36][37][38][39][40][41]; thus, obtaining hybrid materials with unique characteristics.…”

“…In this way, further components could be eliminated, making the work-flow even easier. Passages and exchanges of information with the dental laboratory are of fundamental importance, as are meetings in order to elaborate a treatment and speak a common language for the good of the patient and practicality in the daily clinic [12][13][14][15][16][17]. The superior prosthesis, in its delivery, was inserted and kept in place alone according to the OT Bridge method, having the Seeger inside the abutment with a seal of 7 kg, which allows it to lock it with a click ( Figure A14).…”

“…The blade aims to mimic running as accurately as possible; as a result, it lacks a copy heel as natural running does not utilize one. Similar to regular running shoes, blades can be equipped with running spikes to help them better grip the track (Grimmer et al, 2014;Liu et al, 2017;Chereshnev and Kertész-Farkas, 2018;Frossard et al, 2019;Petrone et al, 2020;Rankin et al, 2020;Emonds and Mombaur, 2021;Aftab and Ahmed, 2022;Murabayashi et al, 2022;Shim et al, 2022). In the next section, we have summarized the latest research outputs in this area.…”
