Kink scattering in a generalized Wess-Zumino model

A. Alonso-Izquierdo,
M. A. Gonzalez Leon,
J. Martin Vaquero
et al.

Abstract: In this paper, kink scattering in the dimensional reduction of the bosonic sector of a one-parameter family of generalized Wess-Zumino models with three vacuum points is discussed. The value of the model parameter determines the specific location of the vacua. The influence of the vacuum arrangements (evolving from three collinear vacua to three vacua placed at the vertices of an equilateral triangle) on the kink scattering is investigated. Two different regimes can be distinguished: in the first one, two symm… Show more

“…An interesting question is the existence of spectral walls in two scalar models which are not BPS theories, i.e., completely generic field theories in (1+1) dimensions, which of course have an even broader range of applications, see e.g., [8], [31]- [39]. Here, again, the recent results obtained in the framework of the BPS impurity models can give us a hint.…”

“…One of the most important experimental realizations of fermion-kink systems appears in polymers, where fractional quantum numbers are observed [38]. There have been many advances in the analysis of scattering behavior of generalizations of kinks and lumps in systems with multiple scalar fields [39][40][41][42]. However, not many works discuss the addition of fermions in kink-antikink collisions.…”
