Know Your International User behind the Screen: A Conversation among Chinese Students and Librarians Regarding Virtual Reference Services (VRS)

Abstract: Librarians need feedback from users to improve library services. On the other hand, users need assistance from librarians in order to gain a better understanding of library services. This paper focuses on how Chinese students use U.S. academic libraries’ virtual reference services (VRS), and how academic librarians use VRS. By collecting data from Chinese students and librarians, this paper hopes to create a better understanding of these two factors in order to improve VRS.
