Millions of pilgrims and visitors from numerous parts of the world flock to Karbala (one of the most prominent ideological and religious places in central Iraq) each year to visit the holy shrines in Karbala due to their sanctity. Many improvements have been made to the Two Holy Shrines (THS), the Shrines of Imam Husayn and Imam Abbas, and the area between them (ATHS), due to the high temperatures in this region and to improve pedestrian thermal comfort. Studies on improving outdoor thermal comfort in Karbala are scarce. Hence, this research aims to look into historical and current architectural changes and how they affect thermal comfort. On the hottest summer day, the ENVI-met software program was used to simulate the building design and calculate the impact of vegetation on outdoor thermal comfort. According to the findings, trees of medium-density in a compacted arrangement should be used nearby built-up structures in newly planned urban regions. In existing urban plots, the best approach is to use free blank areas (e.g. car parks) to set trees of medium-density, as well as plant along large pedestrian and driving routes. In order to understand the development status of China's competitive gymnastics, this paper uses CiteSpace software to visualize the Chinese core journals from 1998 to 2021 in the core collection database. The results show that: (1) the number of core articles of competitive gymnastics research is significantly lower than before, and the year with the largest number of articles is 2004; (2) The author collaboration network lacks vertical and horizontal connections, and the core authors are Xiaowen Yao, Hua Han and Xianlin Meng et al; (3) Highly cited references were all from the most authoritative sports journals in China; (4) The research focus is mainly focused on the competitive sports, competitive strength, male and female and action analysis of competitive gymnastics; (5) It is predicted that the research hotspots in the future may be war preparation strategy, strengthening weak points and developing governance.

Although research on applying machine learning to the performance of the built environment has been advancing considerably, outdoor environment prediction models still need to be more accurate. In this study, I investigated hybrid-driven methods for developing environmental performance prediction models and studied how machine learning algorithms may interpret spatial information in the context of an environmental performance simulation challenge. The simulation of the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) for outdoor applications served as an example. Specifically, I designed two different network structures, each with six neural network models. These neural network models were built with various numbers of layers, convolutional kernel sizes, and convolutional kernel layers. As shown by these models’ training results, I investigated the effect of model parameter settings on performance. In addition, I conducted interpretable analysis through the visual observation of hidden internal layers. The use of multilayer and small convolutional kernels, as well as an increase in the amount of training data, may be the reason neural network prediction performance was improved. From the perspective of interpretability analysis, the convolutional layer can more accurately analyze building space problems, and full connection layers focus more on the regression between the spatial features and performance results. This “space analysis → data regression” network structure can be expanded to wind environment forecasting or heat environment in the future.
