Abstract:This chapter focuses on how nurses should act towards Sámi patients in order to promote cultural safety in meetings with the healthcare system. The method applied is a secondary analysis of interviews of 12 persons, as well as participatory observations. The findings show that there still are barriers between health personnel and Sámi patients due to the historic legacy and lack of knowledge.
