“…In the literature there is no report of isolated pulmonary valve endocarditis in patients with ventricular septal defect and infundibular pulmonary stenosis. Puleo et al reported pulmonic valve endocarditis in a patient with ventricular septal defect and trivial pulmonary stenosis 11 . In their patient ventricular septal defect was subarterial in location and they hypothesized that ventricular septal defect jet shooting against the pulmonary valve traumatized the pulmonary valve and this was the probable mechanism in the development of pulmonary valve endocarditis.…”
