Abstract: Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare lung disease affecting almost exclusively women, characterized by the invasion and abnormal proliferation of smooth muscle-like cells in pulmonary parenchyma and axial lymphatics. LAM cells bear mutations in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) genes.
