Abstract:Holography and lithography allow realization of curved periodic microstructures comprising self-aligned liquid crystal (LC)s. The fabrication concept is based on phase separation of mixture of a photocurable polymer and a LC. Exploitation of an interference pattern allows realization of a periodic nano/microcomposite holographic grating made of slices of almost pure polymer alternating with well-aligned channels of LC. By means of a “Fresnel like” curing pattern, curved polymeric slices can impose radial align… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
