Landslide Disaster Mapping in Silo District, Jember Regency

Abstract: Silo District has land with mountainous contours that are relatively unstable and prone to landslides. The factors that cause landslides are complex factors, not only one factor that affects landslides but there are several factors that contribute to the occurrence of a landslide. landslide. The use of five landslide parameters, including rainfall, soil type, slope, land cover and geology. The use of this parameter is adjusted to the physical condition of the silo sub-district. The purpose of this study was to… Show more

“…Slope inclination has a significant influence on landslide hazards (Triwahyuni et al, 2017;Susetyo et al, 2022). Steep slopes pose a higher risk of landslides due to the increased vulnerability of soil or rock stability on those slopes (Ristya et al, 2019;Asmare, 2022).…”

“…In order to prevent and reduce the risk of landslides, it is crucial to conduct a spatial analysis to identify areas prone to landslides on Tidore Island. Spatial analysis is a method used to study and map the spatial patterns and relationships of geographical phenomena (Ristya et al, 2019;Susetyo et al, 2022;Sugandhi et al, 2023). Geographic Information System is a very important tool to identify spatially and temporally potential landslide areas in Ambon City (Bhunia & Shit, 2022;Van Phong et al, 2022).…”

“…High rainfall can cause the soil to become water-saturated, reduce its carrying capacity, and trigger ground mass movement (Harist et al, 2018). Prolonged or heavy rain can damage soil and rock structures and increase the risk of landslides (Susetyo et al, 2022). In addition, rain can also rapidly fill waterways and rivers, creating water pressure that can force ground movement (Harist et al, 2018).…”

“…Hal tersebut berpengaruh terhadap tingkat kestabilan tanah jika dilakukan tanpa adanya perhitungan yang tepat (Robbi et al, 2022). Ketidakstabilan struktur tanah juga dipengaruhi oleh jenis tutupan lahan, karena jenis tutupan lahan tersebut yang dapat menjadikan potensi longsor semakin kecil dengan mempertahankan struktur tanah melalui akarnya (Susetyo et al, 2022).…”
