The possible landslide in Kg. Chuchoh Puteri, Kuala Krai, Kelantan were investigated using the electrical resistivity imaging (ERI) technique. The survey for the collecting of data was conducted along six lines. Each survey line was 200 meters long, with 5 meters between electrodes. ABEM Terrameter LS 1 is used to record all the data and RES2DINV software is used to process it. While conducting the geophysical survey, the relationship between resistivity and conductivity is reciprocal. A pole-dipole array configuration was utilised in survey Lines 1, 2, 4 and 5 and in survey Lines 3 and 6, a Schlumberger array configuration. Survey Lines 2, 3, and 6 are primarily indicated as having a high probability of experiencing a landslide using the pseudosection 2-D profile. The findings reveal varying resistivity at a depth of study between 40 and 80 meters for a survey line length of 200 meters. In general, the resistivity survey's seven pseudosections showed two distinct types of soils: dry residual soil (1–1500 Ωm) and weathered volcanic rocks (>1500 Ωm). Residual soils with varying saturation levels, hard soil and weathered volcanic rock, have dominated the soil profile. These profiles can generally be divided into two (2) zones: thin/thick layers of loose to dense residual soils (10–100 Ωm; Zone A) and thin/thick layers of dense and hard material (> 1000 Ωm).

To reduce the risk of landslides and to be aware of areas that have the potential for further landslides, detailed measurements of these zones are required. Measurements were made to identify a sliding plane below the surface using the geoelectric resistivity method of the Wenner-Schlumberger configuration. The resistivity data from the interpretation results are used to determine slip plane’s slope and the potential for landslide masses. The research location is on steep hills in Air Kuning Batu Merah, Ambon City. The results showed that the slope angles for line-1 were 4.20 degrees, line-2 was 17.60 degrees, line-3 ranged from (22.80 - 23.20) degrees, and line-4 was 21.80 degrees. Furthermore, the estimated volume potential of landslide mass based on the cross-section of subsurface resistivity is 3,063.88 m3. With an indication of a landslide field, the slope has the potential for a subsequent landslide if affected by external and internal factors.

Study on Estimates of Travel Distance, Velocity and Potential Volume of Amahusu Sliding Plane using Energy Conservation Approach in Conjunction with Geoelectric Survey

The investigation of landslides applying various methods has been receiving increased attention in recent years. This study was aimed at assessing the estimated distribution of landslide movement using an energy conservation formula in a lumped mass model to obtain velocity and travel distance estimations, in combination with an inverted resistivity model for estimating the Amahusu landslide volume. The research location was in the Amahusu hills of the Nusaniwe subdistrict, Ambon, Indonesia. A survey was carried out using GPS and a geoelectric resistivity method with the Wenner-Schlumberger configuration. The results of the study provide a characterization of this rotational type landslide. The estimated landslide volume was 70,954 m 3 and the estimated potential landslide volume was 50,603 m 3 . This mass moved 303 m away from the original location, with an estimated maximum velocity of up to 21.25 m/s. The displacement pattern of a landslide mass is primarily controlled by the geometry of the sliding plane. The geometry of the sliding plane causes different types of movement, based on which the possible occurrence of a future landslide can be predicted.
