“…Training improves the laparoscopic suturing skills of laparoscopy-exposed as well as laparoscopy-naïve surgeons and definitely helps in decreasing the learning curve. Prior experience in laparoscopic surgery does not seem to influence the acquisition of laparoscopic suturing skills, as laparoscopynaïve surgeons catch up with the skills of the laparoscopy-exposed surgeons 21 .…”

“…Laparoscopic suturing in the upper abdomen is considered a difficult skill necessitating training. 15 In addition, 2.0 Vicryl material has a mean absorption time of 56 days (range, 45Y70 days); thereafter, the ovaries tend to migrate back to their original position in the pelvis. 16 For this reason, radiotherapy should be started within the shortest possible time (a few days) after surgery.…”

“…Expert performance metrics have been developed to establish training goals and to provide feedback for improvement . Intracorporeal suturing is an advanced laparoscopic skill performed in complex surgical procedures. Lack of consistent exposure to the skill in the operating room makes this exercise ideal for simulator training because it can be repeated until proficiency is successfully achieved.…”
